Editorial

Hello again and welcome to the Autumn Newsletter.

Our AGM Weekend is getting closer, with over fifteen sides already booked. It’s not too late to book – the closing date is September 1st. After that, it’s up to Glorishears, this year’s hosts, to decide if they can fit you in. There’s always a last minute panic, so book now and avoid the rush.

Don’t forget that the Weekend isn’t just the Morris Federation’s national Day of Dance. The main event is really the AGM on the Sunday. Although the agenda may not always look exciting, something contentious always comes up. This year, you can come and air your views on the Morris Ring, why we can’t get hosts for Days of Dance and maybe this Newsletter.

Also at the Weekend, there’ll be a chance to look through the Side History Records, the archives, our notation, scrapbooks and even to buy a T-shirt (or two!). And the committee will be on the look-out for volunteers to host next year’s AGM Weekend. It’s about time a southern side took the plunge, as it hasn’t been held south of Watford since 1979. Now’s the time to start thinking before someone else gets in first!

See you in Birmingham in September.
