Editorial

Welcome to the Winter issue of the MF Newsletter. Firstly, I’d like to say thank you to Persephone – Bradford Women’s Morris for organising this year’s AGM Weekend so well. It all ran smoothly (despite the police’s efforts in directing the procession to the wrong site for the massed stands). This was the biggest Morris Federation event so far, with 8 full coaches taking 35 sides on the tours – very fitting for our 10th Anniversary. My only problem was that the bar stayed open till 2am on the Friday night with a lot of nicely drinkable cider available. We’re now looking forward to next year’s AGM in Birmingham, hosted by Glorishears, so make a note of the date (26-28th September) and I’ll see you there.

Sue Marshail, Publicity Officer, and Lynne Downes, Events Officer, are both standing down from the committee at the end of this year. They’ve both worked hard for the Federation and we’re sad to lose them. Sue has been our first Publicity Officer and has, amongst many other things, made sure that more people. have heard of MF, and has also produced our Anniversary booklet, “10 Years On”. Lynne has co-ordinated all our events over the last couple of years, including the 5 Days of Dance this year and also organised the excellent North West Leaders’ Weekend held recently. Many thanks to them both and welcome to our two new committee members: Felicity Markham (Publicity Officer) and Jenny Slade (Events Officer).

Hope you’ve all enjoyed our 10th Anniversary as much as I have.
