Summary of talk: If you do a Google search for “morris sides near me” (or “morris teams…,morris clubs…“, … ) you may find a map of morris sides. This may be a useful recruiting aid for the sides.

But what if your side is missing? The talk explains how you need a Google Business Profile if you’d like a presence on Google maps for your side.

Accompanying documentation: See the “Setting Up a Google Business Profile” document (Morris Federation advisory document no. 4).

Exercises: In the video the following online activities were carried out:

Issues to Consider: Before creating a Google Business Profile you should consider the following issues:

  • Which email account is used to created the business profile and how will you continue to manage the account if the owner of the address changes roles or leaves the side?
  • What if you have multiple locations for your practices (or, indeed, no fixed location)?
  • What if your practice location differs from the location you use for your side?
  • You are creating content on a Google service. Some members of your side may feel uncomfortable doing this (as they may with other services such as Facebook, YouTube Twitter, etc)
