About this document
In this case study Pauline Woods-Wilson summarises recent developments to Rivington Morris’s YouTube account.
The need for changes!
Rivington Morris’ YouTube account was looking dull and boring. We only had one video of our own, and that was from 1993! But we knew there we a fair few good videos of us out there, owned by individuals – including me! But how do we display those?
What we did
A long time ago I had created a private playlist for team members who wanted to watch dances, especially useful for those who don’t manage to get along to practices that often, or for those trying to learn a dance that is new to them.
I had also put playlists of the front page of the YouTube channel for the Morris Federation, but those videos were ones that were owned by them.
Then it dawned on me that for Rivington Morris I could create a playlist of videos not owned by them, and display them on the Rivington YouTube channel. So I created a playlist for each decade, and lo and behold the channel looks much more interesting now! See the image below or visit: https://www.youtube.com/@rivingtonmorris
