On 21st January 2026, the heads of the 3 morris organisations comprising the Joint Morris Organsations (JMO) attended an event at the House of Lords, hosted by Baroness Fiona Twycross of Headington (Minister for Museums, Heritage and Gambling) to mark the opening of the call for submissions for the UK Inventory of Living Heritage. The event was opened by Lord Stephen Parkinson of Whitley Bay.
Following the UK’s ratification of the 2003 UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2024, communities across the UK have been invited to submit their living heritage to the new inventory.
