Royal Recognition for Fee Lock

Fee Lock and Dave Lock at Buckingham Palace

Fee Lock was invited to attend a Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace for her “Outstanding contribution and services to morris dancing and Hastings Traditional Jack in the Green” on 14th May 2025.  Fee is an Honorary Life Member and past Secretary of the Morris Federation for 22 years, as well as current Secretary for the Joint Morris Organisations (JMO).

The Morris Federation is delighted that Fee received national recognition for her outstanding contribution recognising and celebrating those working in Education and Skills.  She was recommended for invitation/ recognition by Heather Leech of Hastings Traditional Jack in the Green and Hastings RX Morris, who co-ordinated with, amongst others, Pauline Woods-Wilson of the Morris Federation and Jen Cox of Open Morris.

Fee attended the party with her husband Dave Lock, where the King and Queen were in attendance.  She met a wide variety of people who she was able to share her passion and enthusiasm for morris with, bringing awareness of folk traditions to a new audience.

Fee has been involved in Morris for many years, having joined Headcorn Morris at the age of 14. Since then, she has been a member of Loose Women, is a full-time member of Hastings RX Morris, a country member of New Esperance, occasional dancer with the Knights of King Ina, and a new member of Downes on Tour Morris.
