Video collection
A collection of 50 short videos of Morris Federation sides will be released during 2025.
50 videos of 50 sides for the Morris Federation’s 50th anniversary!
The Morris Federation is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2025. To celebrate this occasion during 2025 we will be publishing short videos which feature 50 Morris Federation sides.
The videos will be available on YouTube. In addition we will be inviting the featured sides to download videos of their side which they are free to use as they see fit: the videos could be uploaded to the side’s YouTube, Instagram, TikTok or similar video hosting account; posted on social media services such as Facebook; added to the side’s website – or used in other ways as the side sees fit!
Featured side
OBJ Morris is a mixed morris dancing team, based in Wokingham/Bracknell, Berkshire. We dance in the “border morris” style – a modern name that describes the type of dances performed in English counties that border Wales.
Our dances are a mix of traditional dances and modern dances, created by ourselves, or by other teams (with their permission).
We value the social aspects of morris at least as highly as performance standards, so we recruit locally and encourage new members to perform as soon as they can stumble through a dance. We don’t audition, or invite the best dancers from other teams!
Our musicians are all self-taught, and play a variety of instruments – we’d rather not use electronic amplification. We have a trombone sitting at home waiting for someone to purse their lips and blow into it!
