Featured side: Hobo’s Morris

Hobo’s Morris was formed in 1993 – female border dancers with a great band, based in Poole, Dorset.

Our first season coincided with the 50th anniversary of D-Day. Our name, our colours; red, black, mustard and our badge, the Raging Bull, are borrowed from the 79th Armoured division, commanded by Monty’s cousin Major-General Percy Hobart (Hobo). Hobart and his team’s major contribution to D-Day was for developing “Hobo’s Funnies” – unusual army vehicles to assist in clearing obstacles assisting our forces on and past the landing beaches.
