Boss Morris – a new team making tracks into different audiences

Boss Morris

Boss Morris started in the summer of 2015 in Stroud, Gloucestershire.  The members were drawn from the buzzing creative arts scene in Stroud (many having worked for Damien Hurst at some point in their careers), so not surprisingly the kit has always been a little on the unusual side. Apart from one, none of the dancers had performed morris before, so they had a steep learning curve before their first spot at Stroud Festival in August 2015.

In the last year they have danced at Stewart Lee’s ATP 2.0 Festival in Pontins, Prestatyn; The Royal Albert Hall with folk-rock band Trembling Bells; Christies Auction House for their Festival of British Folklore; Punchdrunk Theatre London for the opening of their production facility ‘Village’; The Colston Hall Bristol for Shirley Collins’ Lodestar tour; The Barbican; Warwick Arts Centre; Liverpool  Philharmonic Hall; The Royal Academy Summer Social; various stages at WOMAD; Walthamstow Folk Festival.
