Simon Brock’s journey to becoming a Clog Maker

Simon Brock making clogs

Simon Brock has written a series in the FedExtra magazine about his journey to become a clog maker, making clogs for morris and step dancers across the country, and where he finally answers the question “Why do you want to make clogs?”.

  • Episode 1 ‘serendipity, generosity, and big scary knives’ in Autumn 2017, pages 14-15
  • Episode 2 ‘obtaining timber, nobody is safe in retirement, first attempt at making clogs’ in Winter/Spring 2018, pages 22-23
  • Episode 3 ‘a proper launch’ in Summer/Autumn 2018, pages 14-15
  • Episode 4 ‘an anniversary of sorts’ in Winter/Spring 2019, page 14-15

Simon’s work has been generously assisted by a grant from The Morris Federation.
