Summary

This issue describes how the Second Sword Spectacular, held from May 21st to 25th, 1998, in Whitby, showcased performances by sword dancing teams from various regions. The event faced challenges such as schedule slippage, which made it difficult for attendees to see all teams. The change in venue to Whitby provided better dance sites compared to Scarborough. The format was similar to 1996 but lacked formal talks and a conference. Highlights included workshops, parades, and a Gala Concert. Although fewer overseas teams attended, the event was still a success, featuring diverse sword dances and cultural exchanges.
