DESCRIPTION:Talk – ‘Merrie England Once More’? The Morris Revival c.1886-1951 – Matt Simons\nThaxted Morris\, c.1911\, on the Vicarage Lawn. From Harry de Caux\, Thaxted: “A Desperate Morris Place” (Thaxted Morris Men\, 1983).\nAn Overview of the Morris Revival from Pageant to Public House and back again. \nBorn out of a widespread fervour for ‘Merrie England’\, the morris dance revival was part of a campaign to locate and restore an English tradition of music and dance. \nThis talk will provide a brief overview of the revival movement from the ‘Shakespearean Bidford Morris’ of the 1880s through to the Festival of Britain in 1951.  Along the way\, we will encounter antiquarians and composers\, social workers and radical vicars\, artisan weavers and rural revivalists. \n(For the purposes of this talk\, morris is limited to the form now commonly known as ‘Cotswold’) \nYour host\nDr Matt Simons is a dancer and researcher based in south Lincolnshire.  He is a part-time lecturer in Modern British History at De Montfort University\, and full-time dancer with numerous sides including Peterborough Morris and Bourne Borderers. \nThis talk is based on Matt’s doctoral thesis\, completed in 2019\, entitled ‘Morris Men: Dancing Englishness\, c.1905-1951’. \nTo register\nPlease complete this online form: Register for the Talk – ‘Merrie England Once More’? The Morris Revival\, c.1886-1951; you will receive a confirmation email immediately (check your spam/junk/promotions folder!).  We will send you a Zoom link a couple of days before the event.  Open to all – you don’t have to be a member of a team in The Morris Federation. \nOptional Donations\nIf you enjoy this event\, then it would be wonderful if you could send a donation\, small or large\, either to Matt’s tip jar or to his nominated charity. \n– Help Matt’s ongoing research projects by ‘buying him a coffee’ at https://ko-fi.com/mattsimons \n– Donate to Samaritans to help them reach those who are struggling to cope during this difficult time: https://www.samaritans.org/donate-now/

SUMMARY:Workshop - Cotswold Morris - 2 Ilmington Jigs (LIVE on Zoom)
DESCRIPTION:Recording of event\nThis workshop took place using the Zoom video service on 28 March 2021. A recording of the workshop is available on YouTube: Ilmington – Nelson’s Praise & Jockie to the Fair Jigs – KOKI – Workshop – Cotswold Morris – 2021. \n \nWorkshop – Cotswold Morris – 2 Ilmington Jigs\nAndrew Knight and Lin Steel\, with musician Tony Warren\, will teach 2 Cotswold morris jigs (solo dance) for those with some experience of Cotswold morris\, and also suitable for those who attended our beginners Cotswold workshop in November/December. \nThe dances are ‘Nelson’s Praise’ and ‘Jockey to the Fair’\, both in the style of Ilmington. \nThis is being run as a 1 hr 30 minute run through of the Ilmington Style and is open to anyone wanting to give the Ilmington Style a try; particularly suitable as a reminder for those that followed the Nov/Dec workshop on Ilmington.  It is hoped that some will take a jig out in the summer of 2021 and perform it in some form if we are able.  Whatever your genre of morris adding a Jig is an excellent way to make a contrast in the performance of your side. \nA desire to learn / better one’s technique / be able to learn from viewing on a screen is desirable. \nYour hosts\nDance leaders – Andrew Knight and Lin Steel\, with Musician Tony Warren.  Lin has danced from early childhood and is a professional dance teacher with the RAD\, her Morris history starts with Border and she made the transition to Cotswold on moving to Somerset\, she has danced most genres of Morris.  Andrew is an Osteopath and has danced Morris for 25+ years almost exclusively Cotswold; both have been teachers/fore(wo)men and leaders/squires of several teams and both dance with multiple teams.  Andrew wrote the Warm up information 2nd edition for The Morris Federation. \nAndrew\, Lin and Tony currently perform with the Knights of King Ina morris jig team\, based in Somerset (see more below). \nTo register\nPlease complete this online form: Register for the Workshop – Cotswold – 2 Ilmington Jigs; you will receive a confirmation email immediately (check your spam/junk/promotions folder!).  We will send you a Zoom link a couple of days before the event.  Open to all – you don’t have to be a member of a team in The Morris Federation. \nOptional Donations\nIf you enjoy this event\, then it would be wonderful if you could send a donation\, small or large\, to Yeovil Freewheelers Blood Bikes: https://www.yfwbloodbikes.org/ \nResources\n– Video: Warming up and Cooling Down for Morris Dancers  on the MF YouTube Channel \nFor Nelson’s Praise:\n– Video: Andrew Knight dancing Ilmington – Nelson’s Praise and dancing Ilmington – Nelson’s Praise (filmed from behind\, no music) \nFor Jockie to the Fair (which we workshopped for beginners in Nov/Dec 2020):\n– Video: Andrew Knight dancing Ilmington – Jockie to the Fair \nFor Ilmington in general:\n– A folder containing: Dance Notation\, music dots and MP3 for Ilmington (incl Nelson’s Praise & Jockie to the Fair) in the MF Notation Library \nKnights of King Ina\nSee the KOKI Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/TheKnightsOfKingIna and the King Ina YouTube Channel \nKOKI – back in 2010 faced with the imminent demise (never happened) of a set team\, several people joined to study Jig dancing as a way of improving their dance and to avoid being reliant on large numbers to go to Festivals. That and there are not many Jig teams about – at the time we found 2 active and 2 inactive in the UK and another also just starting out like us. \nAt the outset we decided to avoid the inevitable provenance arguments about how its supposed to go and to revisit the – usually handwritten – first collection notes. Our re-interpretation of these is the same starting point that all the revivalists had (apart from those meeting the old dancers) any subsequent variation from first recorded is to suit the dance to us. \nOver the years from humble beginnings we have performed at many festivals\, won medals\, and given a workshop series twice a year in Somerset covering most of the traditions that have Jig dances in their repertoire. There is a notation series and music for all of these available free from us. We now have regular members from the South Coast to Herefordshire and meet regularly to practice (subject to legal restrictions!)\, members of the team have taught and performed in Europe and Australia and during Lockdown we developed a video set and notation for Ilmington teaching used internationally.

SUMMARY:Workshop - Pipe and Tabor for beginners - Taborers Society (LIVE on Zoom)
DESCRIPTION:Recording of event\nThis talk took place using the Zoom video service on 20 March 2021. A recording of the talk is available on YouTube: Pipe & Tabor for Beginners – Workshop – Taborers Society. \n \nWorkshop – Pipe and Tabor for beginners – Taborers Society\nAndy Richards will lead a workshop using the tune Shepherds’ Hey\, Bucknell. \nPipe and tabor is a super and fun instrument for dance\, just as it was in the earliest morris we know about in the 15th and 16th centuries\, or in the 17th century when we get the earliest reference to a Cotswold morris tradition. Here is a fun video of Hunt the Squirrel: \nhttp://www.pipeandtabor.org/2020/08/18/taborers-hunt-the-squirrel/ \nOur session will be extremely friendly\, supportive and collaborative\, and there will be a lot of laughing as we encourage each other to learn together. We will use tabor pipes in high D such as the Generation\, available from the Taborers Society Price; £9.95 including postage for UK orders): http://www.pipeandtabor.org/the-pipe-and-tabor/buying-a-tabor-pipe/generation-tabor-pipes/ \nWe will have fun holding and manipulating a tabor pipe\, a stick or stick-like object such as a wooden spoon held in your leading hand\, and hitting a tabor or some sort of percussion instrument (e.g. tambourine or disc of thick cardboard attached to your non-leading arm). We will enjoy very slowly learning a super morris tune Shepherds’ Hey from Bucknell\, slow and dance speed versions of this will be available in advance in the Beginners Workshop Videos on the Taborers Society YouTube channel. You can see the fingers and get used to the tune. We will do some stepping to help internalize the rhythm\, and there will be time for questions at the end. Sheet music of the version of the tune we learn will be at http://www.pipeandtabor.org/the-pipe-and-tabor/how-to-play-the-pipe-and-tabor/beginners-workshops/. \nYour host\nAndy Richards has many years’ experience of leading\, teaching and playing for morris dancing and early dance with pipe and tabor\, the typical instrument for English morris from the 15th to the early 19th century. He is the EFDSS Morris Class Tutor and current Chair of the Taborers Society. \nThis workshop is being jointly presented with the Taborers Society: www.pipeandtabor.org \nTo join The Taborers Society: http://www.pipeandtabor.org/sample-page/become-a-member/ \nTo register\nPlease complete this online form: Register for the Workshop – Pipe and Tabor for Beginners – Taborer’s Society; you will receive a confirmation email immediately (check your spam/junk/promotions folder!).  We will send you a Zoom link a couple of days before the event.  Open to all – you don’t have to be a member of a team in The Morris Federation or the Taborers Society. \nOptional Donations\nIf you enjoy this event\, then it would be wonderful if you could send a donation\, small or large\, to Bowel Cancer UK  via: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/stephen-rowley2

SUMMARY:Talk - Clogs in Britain & Beyond - Michael Jackson (LIVE on Zoom)
DESCRIPTION:Recording of event\nThis talk took place using the Zoom video service on 13 March 2021. A recording of the talk is available on YouTube: Clogs in Britain and Beyond – Michael L Jackson. \n \nTalk – Clogs in Britain & Beyond – Michael Jackson\nMichael Jackson will briefly cover the history of clog making in Britain.  He will consider European influences on British clogs\, and vice versa\, as well as comments of wooden footwear around the world. \nHeritage clogs and wooden shoes\, and clog-making tools\, will be used to illustrate the talk\, plus photographs and other old pictures. \nThere will be time for Q&A. \nYour host\nMichael Jackson grew up in Lancaster\, a town where clogs were available from several retail outlets into the 1980s\, and they were worn both for work and leisure. He bought his first pair in 1980 when he joined John O’Gaunt Morris Men.  Subsequently he has acquired many more pairs of clogs\, and clog-making tools and memorabilia\, sometimes as a result of generous donations. The collection includes not only many different examples of British clogs\, but also styles of wooden shoes from around the world. \nA couple of years ago\, a talk in a local museum about clog making led to a piece in a local newspaper (repeated on a number of websites in the North West)\, which in turn led to an appearance on BBC1’s Bargain Hunt. \nIn a normal year\, he can be seen dancing in clogs with Royal Preston Morris Dancers and Horwich Prize Medal Morris Men.  He can be seen dancing in other footwear with Abram Morris Dancers\, Medlock Rapper\, Regency Rejigged\, and Seven Stars Sword and Step Dancers. \nUntil normal times return\, Michael will continue to be busy with clog-related research.  He is preparing to re-publish an old history of clog-making in Britain\, supplemented by his own research into people and businesses involved in the trade at the end of the nineteenth century.  This will be distributed as a PDF free-of-charge in Facebook groups\, in order to reach as many people as possible. \nOther Resources\nMichael has posted links to hundreds of Google Photos albums of clog-related photographs on the Facebook page of Seven Stars Sword and Step Dancers. The albums include photographs (mainly by Michael’s wife Janet) of many different styles of clogs\, as well as old postcards and various documents. More links are being added\, so keep an eye on the page. \nTo register\nPlease complete this online form: Register for the Talk – Clogs in Britain & Beyond – Michael Jackson; you will receive a confirmation email immediately (check your spam/junk/promotions folder!).  We will send you a Zoom link a couple of days before the event.  Open to all – you don’t have to be a member of a team in The Morris Federation. \nOptional Donations\nIf you enjoy this event\, then it would be wonderful if you could send a donation\, small or large\, to the English Folk Dance and Song Society (EFDSS): https://www.efdss.org/support-us/donate-now

SUMMARY:Workshop - Cotswold Morris - Bledington Jig (LIVE on Zoom)
DESCRIPTION:Recording of event\nThis workshop took place using the Zoom video service on 28 February 2021. A recording of the workshop is available on YouTube: Bledington – Lumps of Plum Pudding Jig – KOKI – Workshop – Cotswold Morris – 2021. \n \nWorkshop – Cotswold Morris – Bledington Jig – for Beginners/Progressors\nAndrew Knight and Lin Steel\, with musician Tony Warren\, will teach a Cotswold morris jig (solo dance) for those with some experience of Cotswold morris\, and also suitable for those who attended our beginners Cotswold workshop in November/December. \nThe dance is ‘Lumps of Plum Pudding’ in the style of Bledington\, and as usual it will be as recorded by the collectors.  During the 1.5 hour workshop they will cover the form and steps of the dance\, and build to the ‘Lumps of Plum Pudding’ jig. \nFor those that like to hear the tunes and /or see the dance entirely first\, there are links in the Resources section below.  We encourage you to listen/view these before you join the workshop.  Full notation is available for download there. \nTo register\nPlease complete this online form: Register for the Workshop – Cotswold – Bledington Jig; you will receive a confirmation email immediately (check your spam/junk/promotions folder!).  We will send you a Zoom link a couple of days before the event.  Open to all – you don’t have to be a member of a team in The Morris Federation. \nOptional Donations\nIf you enjoy this event\, then it would be wonderful if you could send a donation\, small or large\, to Yeovil Freewheelers Blood Bikes: https://www.yfwbloodbikes.org/ \nResources\n– Video: Andrew Knight and Lin Steel dancing ‘Lumps of Plum Pudding’ in the style of Bledington – Front View and ‘Lumps of Plum Pudding’ in the style of Bledington – Back View \n– Video: KOKI Workshop teaching ‘Lumps of Plum Pudding’ in the style of Bledington in 2019 \n– Video: Warming up and Cooling Down for Morris Dancers on the MF YouTube Channel \n– A folder containing: Dance Notation\, music dots and MP3 for ‘Lumps of Plum Pudding’\, Bledington in the MF Notation Library \nKnights of King Ina\nSee the KOKI Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/TheKnightsOfKingIna and the King Ina YouTube Channel \n \nKOKI – back in 2010 faced with the imminent demise (never happened) of a set team\, several people joined to study Jig dancing as a way of improving their dance and to avoid being reliant on large numbers to go to Festivals.

No Appalachian experience is needed for these sessions. \n15:30-16:30 Appalachian Clogging Basics Level 2: We’ll build on the basics and add more steps to our repertoire\, work on musicality and tone\, improvise and trade rhythms.  Experience suggested for level 2: previous percussive/step dance experience in a traditional style (American clogging\, English step/clog\, French Canadian\, Cape Breton\, rhythm tap\, Irish step or Sean Nos). All of those footwork styles will translate well to level 2. \nEquipment Needed\nRecommended footwear: Any comfortable leather or hard-soled dance shoes you prefer; tap shoes\, or Irish hard shoes if you’re on good terms with your housemates/neighbours. \nDance surface: Wooden floor is best\, but any firm surface will do. Not much space is needed\, and you can put a 3×3 square of plywood or Masonite over less forgiving surfaces. \nWorkshop format note: Abby’s workshops are designed so you are moving most of the time (dance class rather than history lesson). Abby will also provide thoughtful modifications for differently abled bodies. \nTo register\nPlease complete the online form(s)\, either or both of: \n– Register for the Workshops – Appalachian Clogging Basics Level 1 (14:00-15:00) \n– Register for the Workshops – Appalachian Clogging Basics Level 2 (15:30-16:30) for those with some relevant experience\, see above \nYou will receive a confirmation email immediately (check your spam/junk/promotions folder!).  We will send you a Zoom link a couple of days before the event.  Open to all – you don’t have to be a member of a team in The Morris Federation. \nDonations\nAbby & Sam are professional teachers of dance\, so if you enjoy this event\, then it would be wonderful if you could contribute something to their tip jar.  If you have a Paypal account\, go to paypal.me/stuntology. \nYour hosts\nAbby Ladin was raised on social\, folk and percussive dance from North America\, the UK and Eastern Europe\, and by age 18 was touring nationally with the Ohio based dance and music company Rhythm In Shoes (RIS). SUMMARY:Workshop - Virtual Ceilidh Calling Masterclass (LIVE on Zoom)
DESCRIPTION:Workshop – Virtual Ceilidh Calling Masterclass\nIn these times of no proper ceilidhs\, callers have the time and the chance to hone their skills for the new normal – the Zoom Ceilidh! \nFee Lock & Martyn Harvey – two top callers – one southern and one northern\, one woman & one man\, and both morris dancers.  They’re combining to give tips & warnings\, dance ideas & technical advice and their individual suggestions for some things that don’t often get talked about!  There will be plenty of time for Q&A.  And a tea/coffee/bar break too. \nProgramme\nWe will cover adapting your ceilidh dances and calling for Zoom (or other video conferencing software)\, and the technical challenges: \n1. Good/bad calling \n2. Adjusting dances to suit a Zoom/virtual audience \n3. The dreaded time lag \n4. Working with a new band \n5. Where to choose to film \n6. Payment & tax \nYour hosts\nFee Lock (Hastings\, Sussex) – Fee Lock spices up her unerring eye for what the dance floor wants by pogo-ing up and down between cut-glass enunciations. Favourite after danceable favourite spiked with unusual new dances make for an entertaining evening. Fee works closely with the band in advance of each gig\, often travelling the length and breadth of the country to hear them play. This exceptionally tight planning leads directly to fabulously feels-good\, feels-right music for each dance. Do not miss. \n  \nMartyn Harvey (Kendal\, Cumbria) – Martyn’s one of those lucky callers who’s steeped in years of dance experience.  Best calling practice from the likes of Hugh Ripon\, John Lagden and Tom Cook.  Technically his calling is very sound and he manages to get dancers through dances they didn’t even think that they could manage.  He always keeps an eye on the dancers and is quick to capitalise on any opportunity to get people laughing.  And he wears a black hat. \nTo register\nPlease complete this online form: Register for the Workshop – Virtual Ceilidh Calling Masterclass; you will receive a confirmation email immediately (check your spam/junk/promotions folder!).  We will send you a Zoom link a couple of days before the event.  Open to all – you don’t have to be a member of a team in The Morris Federation. \nOptional Donations\nIf you enjoy this event\, then it would be wonderful if you could send a donation\, small or large\, to either or both of: \n– Fee’s choice: Hastings Traditional Jack in the Green \n– Martyn’s choice: Great North Air Ambulance

SUMMARY:Workshop - Cotswold Morris - Bucknell Jig (LIVE on Zoom)
DESCRIPTION:Recording of event\nThis workshop took place using the Zoom video service on 24 January 2021. A recording of the workshop is available on YouTube: Bucknell – Bonnets so Blue Jig – KOKI – Workshop – Cotswold Morris – 2021. \n \nWorkshop – Cotswold Morris – Bucknell Jig – for Beginners/Progressors\nAndrew Knight and Lin Steel\, with musician Tony Warren\, will teach a Cotswold morris jig (solo dance) for those with some experience of Cotswold morris\, suitable for those who attended our beginners Cotswold workshop in November/December.  The dance is ‘Bonnets so Blue’ in the style of Bucknell.  We will cover the whole jig in this 1.5 hour workshop. \nTo register\nPlease complete this online form: Register for the Workshop – Cotswold – Bucknell Jig; you will receive a confirmation email immediately (check your spam/junk/promotions folder!).  We will send you a Zoom link a couple of days before the event.  Open to all – you don’t have to be a member of a team in The Morris Federation. \nOptional Donations\nIf you enjoy this event\, then it would be wonderful if you could send a donation\, small or large\, to Yeovil Freewheelers Blood Bikes: https://www.yfwbloodbikes.org/ \nResources\n– Video: Andrew Knight dancing ‘Bonnets so Blue’ in the style of Bucknell – Front View and ‘Bonnets to Blue’ in the style of Bucknell – Back View \n– Video: Three dancers dancing ‘Bonnets so Blue’ in the style of Bucknell (from 2014) \n– Video: Lin Steel demonstrating the first slow and Andrew Knight demonstrating the chorus \n– Video: Three dancers dancing ‘Little Highland Mary’ in the style of Bucknell (reconstructed jig\, from 2014) \n– Video: Warming up and Cooling Down for Morris Dancers on the MF YouTube Channel \n– A folder containing: Dance Notation\, music dots and MP3 for Bucknell ‘Bonnets so Blue’ in the MF Notation Library \nKnights of King Ina\nSee the KOKI Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/TheKnightsOfKingIna and the King Ina YouTube Channel \nKOKI – back in 2010 faced with the imminent demise (never happened) of a set team\, several people joined to study Jig dancing as a way of improving their dance and to avoid being reliant on large numbers to go to Festivals.

DESCRIPTION:Recording of event\nThis talk took place using the Zoom video service on 23 January 2021. A recording of the talk is available on YouTube: How to Make a Beast with Geoff Roberts. \n \nTalk – How to make a beast – Geoff Roberts\nGeoff Roberts will talk about making a Morris beast – held up by a single pole with the carrier under a fabric body.  He has already made 3 beasts in his morris career\, using just a workmate and some basic hand and power tools. \nHis latest creation is a real life Giddy horse from the Giddy Up At Whitby book (available at Waterstones). \nGeoff will show some of the bits of Giddy in detail and pass on advice about the things he’s done that have worked\, and some that haven’t.  He has no workshop\, just a workmate and some basic hand and power tools so you should be able to make one just as Geoff has.  There isn’t a rule book\, or only one way of building a beast that works\, but this is one way that has. \nTalk approx. 30-40 mins\, with the opportunity for Q&A. \nYour host\nGeoff says “If there is a qualification for making Morris beasts\, I don’t have it\, but I have made two dragons and a horse.  Originally I offered to make a more portable dragon (see picture) for Woodside Morris Men to take on our visit to Bensheim in Germany as the existing one was a bit unwieldy and heavy for the flight.  Then I made another lightweight one to transport around.  And then I made a real life Giddy horse from the Giddy Up At Whitby book in order to produce a short film for Whitby@Home 2020.” \nGeoff Roberts has danced with Woodside Morris Men and Chiltern Hundreds and most recently with Hexham Morris Men\, Black Gate Morris\, Rockhopper Morris and Amble Sword. \nTo register\nPlease complete this online form: Register for the Talk – How to Make a Beast with Geoff Roberts; you will receive a confirmation email immediately (check your spam/junk/promotions folder!).  We will send you a Zoom link a couple of days before the event.  Open to all – you don’t have to be a member of a team in The Morris Federation. \nOptional Donations\nIf you enjoy this event\, then it would be wonderful if you could send a donation\, small or large\, to the Alzheimer’s Society: https://www.alzheimers.org.uk/get-involved/make-donation

SUMMARY:Demo - Rapper Sword making with Frank Lee (LIVE on Zoom)
DESCRIPTION:Demo – Rapper Sword making with Frank Lee\nFor anyone curious about how rapper swords are made … Frank Lee reveals all from his workshop in Brampton\, Cumbria. \nFrank will explain the processes involved in making rapper swords\, the way he has made them since 1977\, and demonstrate them using video clips.  The processes will start from raw materials and work through to a finished product.  Frank will explain how the processes have evolved\, and mention alternative methods as he goes. \nYour host\nFrank was brought-up in the North-East\, where his forbears all worked in the shipbuilding and coal industries as blacksmiths and engineers.  His teaching job took him just over the county boundary into Cumbria\, but he learned his rapper dancing with Newcastle Morris Men in the Cumberland Arms\, Byker\, and his work as a swordsmith began after volunteering to repair their swords.  After finding a small supply of spring steel\, he then made a complete set of rappers from scratch for his own team in Carlisle.  As that team travelled to festivals\, interest grew in the rapper dance\, and then in obtaining rappers\, so Frank set about increasing production\, and has since made over 2\,500 rappers.  He has sent them to teams all over the world\, quite a substantial amount to the USA\, and more recently to China\, Taiwan and Japan.  He has also made many sets of longswords. \nFrank is a member of Carlisle Sword and Clog\, Hexham Morris\, Feet First Appalachian Cloggers\, and Flag and Bone Gang. \nSee his web site: http://www.rapper-swords.co.uk/ \nProgramme\nDemo and talk for just over an hour\, followed by Q&A. \nTo register\nPlease complete this online form: Register for the Demo – Rapper Sword making with Frank Lee; you will receive a confirmation email immediately (check your spam/junk/promotions folder!).  We will send you a Zoom link a couple of days before the event.  Open to all – you don’t have to be a member of a team in The Morris Federation. \nOptional Donations\nIf you enjoy this event\, then it would be wonderful if you could send a donation\, small or large\, to Halsway Manor\, National Centre for Folk Arts: halswaymanor.org.uk/support-us/donate

Pacing will be fast for beginners but slow for anyone with a measure of Cotswold experience.  No Cotswold Morris experience is needed to join us for these sessions\, but a desire to learn / better one’s technique / be able to learn from viewing on a screen is desirable.  The dates are: \nSunday 22nd November (week 1) / Sunday 29th November (week 2) / Sunday 6th December (week 3) \nYour hosts\nDance leaders – Lin Steel and Andrew Knight\, with Musician Tony Warren. \nLin\, Andrew and Tony currently perform with the Knights of King Ina morris jig team\, based in Somerset (see more below). \nTo register\nPlease complete this online form: Register for the Workshops – Cotswold morris for beginners; you will receive a confirmation email immediately (check your spam/junk/promotions folder!).  We will send you a Zoom link a couple of days before the event.  Open to all – you don’t have to be a member of a team in The Morris Federation. \nOptional Donations\nDonations to Yeovil Freewheelers Blood Bikes: https://www.yfwbloodbikes.org/ \nResources\nHere are some resources for you: \n– Video: Andrew Knight dancing Ilmington – Jockie to the Fair on the King Ina YouTube Channel \n– Video: Warming up and Cooling Down for Morris Dancers  on the Morris Federation’s YouTube Channel \n– A folder containing: Dance Notation\, music dots and MP3 in the Morris Federation’s Notation Library \nKnights of King Ina\nSee the KOKI Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/TheKnightsOfKingIna. \nKOKI – back in 2010 faced with the imminent demise (never happened) of a set team\, several people joined to study Jig dancing as a way of improving their dance and to avoid being reliant on large numbers to go to Festivals.
