DESCRIPTION:Workshop – Virtual Ceilidh Calling Masterclass\nIn these times of no proper ceilidhs\, callers have the time and the chance to hone their skills for the new normal – the Zoom Ceilidh! \nFee Lock & Martyn Harvey – two top callers – one southern and one northern\, one woman & one man\, and both morris dancers.  They’re combining to give tips & warnings\, dance ideas & technical advice and their individual suggestions for some things that don’t often get talked about!  There will be plenty of time for Q&A.  And a tea/coffee/bar break too. \nProgramme\nWe will cover adapting your ceilidh dances and calling for Zoom (or other video conferencing software)\, and the technical challenges: \n1. Good/bad calling \n2. Adjusting dances to suit a Zoom/virtual audience \n3. The dreaded time lag \n4. Working with a new band \n5. Where to choose to film \n6. Payment & tax \nYour hosts\nFee Lock (Hastings\, Sussex) – Fee Lock spices up her unerring eye for what the dance floor wants by pogo-ing up and down between cut-glass enunciations. Favourite after danceable favourite spiked with unusual new dances make for an entertaining evening. Fee works closely with the band in advance of each gig\, often travelling the length and breadth of the country to hear them play. This exceptionally tight planning leads directly to fabulously feels-good\, feels-right music for each dance.
