18-39 Workshop Weekend (Storrington, West Sussex)
We know how hard youth networking can be in the Morris world, and want to help with that, so this one is for the younger members…
Are you a younger dancer or musician between the ages of 18 and 39, or will you be at the time of this event? Are you keen to meet, dance alongside and get to know other Morris folks of the same age? Would you like to broaden your horizons and try out other traditions and styles of Morris via a fun, immersive workshop weekend, and make some new friends whilst doing it? If so, this is the event for you! Run by younger folk, for younger folk, we are going to be hosting our very first 18 – 39 mixed workshop weekend Fri 14th-Sun 16th March 2025, featuring workshops on a variety of styles, and would like YOU to come and be a part of it.
Where? The Sullington Parish Hall, Thakeham Rd, Storrington, West Sussex, RH20 3PP. (See map).
When? Friday 14th March 2025 (pm) to Sunday 16th March 2025.
Who is this for? All dancers and musicians between ages of 18 and 39 at the time of the workshop are welcome. Feel free to bring a friend who is new to Morris, Sword and Appalachian. You don’t have to be a member of a team in the Morris Federation
We will have workshops on both Saturday and Sunday, morning and afternoon.
Tutors and Workshops?
On the Saturday – Sussex Junction (Cotswold for beginners and advanced), and Crooked Moon Appalachian
On the Sunday – Green Man Sword (Rapper and Longsword)
What to bring? Trainers or similar for Cotswold, Hard-soled shoes for Appalachian and Rapper. Remove jewellery and watches before doing Rapper or Longsword!
Cost? £60 for the weekend, including indoor camping, tuition and food. £40 for concessions (unwaged or in full-time education). Reduction for part-weekend.

- Saturday workshops, lunch & evening meal: £36 (£24 concession)
- Sunday workshops & lunch: £30 (£20 concession)
Accommodation? Indoor camping is included in the price, at the same venue as the workshops. There is also a camp site about 2 miles away, see Washington Caravan and Camping Park (WashCamp), with an hourly bus service. Plus lots of other types of accommodation nearby. Parking for camper vans at the hall is TBC.
Food? Saturday light breakfast, lunch and evening meal & Sunday light breakfast and lunch, plus tea and coffee all weekend, are included in the price. For Friday evening bring your own food – there are plenty of takeaways available, which you are welcome to bring to the hall. The Moon pub in the village sells food. Other drinks: bring your own for the weekend.
