Morris-Natyam collaboration

Morris-Natyam is a collaboration between english and Indian musicians and dancers, directed by Bharatnatyam dancer and choreographer Priya Sundar and joined by Lisa Haywood.  Morris dancing and Bharatnatyam dancing are, at first glance, a surprising combination.  Bharatnatyam is a Southern Indian classical dance style, featuring lyrical hand and eye movements, stamped rhythms and a bold costume with fan-like trousers.

The performance in Carlisle featured dancing from both styles in the theme of the Seasons.
